Our school vision of ‘Enriching generations to serve and flourish’ is closely linked to the biblical story of Joseph

Joseph Shield 1

6 He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had: 7 There we were, binding sheaves of grain in the field. Suddenly my sheaf stood up, and your sheaves gathered around it and bowed down to my sheaf.” (Genesis 37:6-7)

Teaching is about enriching lives through developing skills, knowledge and wisdom.

Joseph Shield 2

27 Come on, let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay a hand on him, for he is our brother, our own flesh,” and his brothers agreed. (Genesis 37:27)

At Ditton CE Junior School we have many generations of families come through our school and we pride ourselves on supporting them all on their educational journey.

Joseph Shield 3

2 The LORD was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, serving[m] in the household of his Egyptian master. 3 When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made everything he did successful, 4 Joseph found favour with his master and became his personal attendant. (Genesis 38:2-4)

Everything we learn ensures we are better equipped to serve the Lord and our community.

Joseph Shield 4

9 “Return quickly to my father and say to him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: “God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me without delay. 10 You can settle in the land of Goshen and be near me—you, your children, and your grandchildren, your flocks, your herds, and all you have. 11 There I will sustain you, for there will be five more years of famine. Otherwise, you, your household, and everything you have will become destitute.”’ 12 Look! Your eyes and the eyes of my brother Benjamin can see that I’m[c] the one speaking to you. 13 Tell my father about all my glory in Egypt and about all you have seen. And bring my father here quickly.”

14 Then Joseph threw his arms around his brother Benjamin and wept, and Benjamin wept on his shoulder. 15 Joseph kissed each of his brothers as he wept,[d] and afterward his brothers talked with him. (Genesis 45:9-15)
